If you really want to explore the himachali culture you should definitely stay here. The kind of hospitality we got from Sharma Ji and Sanghmitra mam was outstanding.
We visited their gardens down in the valley, had tea every night after dinner in their own traditional himachali house,
sung on karaoke near bonfire with all guests
and saw the prettiest moonrise from the front yard (which has the best view in Fagu).
Rooms are beautifully decorated by hosts themselves and all the amenities are in place like geyser, parking, cleaning etc.
Place is surrounded by apple orchards so everyday an apple day.
There are so many places nearby to go to. Hosts know best. They are always more than happy to accompany you and guide you if asked.
No complaints. Had the best stay so far.

I’m writing this review as I’m driving back from this place, because it deserves it. I was here with my parents and we had an amazing time courtesy of Sharma Ji, who is a wonderful host. This home stay is a couple of kilometres ahead of Shimla. Away from the bustle of the city, this place is so peaceful, it instills a sense of serenity within. The food, apple orchards and their two pups Bhalu and Jerry were all the amazing add ons that come with the stay. The rooms are spacious and the view of the mountains is breathtaking. Cherry on the cake, Sharma Ji and his wife are both excellent singers and created an amazing mehfil among all the guests around a bonfire. If you’re looking for something peaceful yet fun, with amazing home cooked food, be sure to check this out!

It was a wonderful experience. a village trip which was guided by Mr Rajesh sharma (owner) who looks after the hotel as well. Rajesh sharma is such a warm personality and guide too. I truly enjoyed a lot while walking through the village. The scenery was amazing, beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet peaceful environment.
Although,, this is not a 5-star hotel property or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me.. specially the food , it was fresh ,,,home cooked and super delicious ...

Well words are less to describe our stay here ...rajesh ji and his wife are perfect host you would look for..his wife took us personally to a beautiful river spot which was breathtaking...the homestay have a perfect location..view from there is wat u look for ..if you are looking for a peace ful place and just nature then this place is for you...food was good...service was good..v had bornfire every night..dance music fun wat else u want ...they also arranged carry ok for us..there v met another family also n v all had a blast..next day v went to banga paani as told by rajesh ji..and i mst tel u it is like mini switzerland...so it was our bst trip so far...thanku so mch for such a beautiful stay

They say the beauty of a place is defined by the people you meet there. Fagu has been blessed in that case with Rajesh Sharma, his wonderful wife Sangamithra and their little bundle of energy and joy Aviral. We were skeptical to go to an unknown place for a vacation. But then the moment we spoke to Sharmaji we knew this was the right place. Surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty and Apple trees "Talai Ghar" instantly makes you fall in love with the place. Rajesh and Sangamithra make sure that this is a home you would want to stay forever. They are an extremely caring and loving couple with only the guests comfort as their primary goal. They go to extreme lengths to make your stay comfortable. My wife and i went for a vacation and came back with a family. Thank you for being such great hosts. Looking forward to go there again.

To summarize, Talaighar homestay is a complete package providing the best of views, ambiance, food and hospitality. It is nestled in an apple orchard, sprinkled with rose and sunflower plants. The spacious balcony-cum-terrace is a great place to work during the day and party at night.
Rajesh ji's hospitality deserves special mention. Whether it is getting you things from the market or serving delicious homemade food (Siddu is a must-try), he has a passion to make you feel at home. This didn't end even after we left the homestay - he was kind enough to drop us at the nearby treehouse, and later called to offer help when we got stuck in flood-affected Dharamshala.
Looking forward to my stay here in the winter season!

The real home stay far from your home. "Wow!", yes it was first word when our group reached Talaighar Homestay. Nice Location surrounded with nature (Apple orchards and Deodar trees), fabulous view from terrace, Clean and big room, well furnished.
Hosting by Mr. Rajesh Sharma and family was amazing like own family members, I would like to express my thanks and appreciations to the amazing people, very welcoming , full of life. The serve home make food , fresh, natural and full of taste. They also served food on request. Staff was co-operative and well behaved. We enjoyed bonfire with song and dance in night.
You will get 24x7 hot water.
Best part is you will feel yourself as a part of nature.
The best destination forever I enjoyed.

Location is away from hustle bustle and you’ll find the peace ☮️ here that you are searching for.
I visited in oct month,at that time your own car (sedan) goes staright up to the property whereas in winters it might be difficult without 4x4
Rajesh have his own Apple orchards in front of his house and he gave us an apple box while leaving at minimal prices.
A few months back I recommended one of my friend of this place and his reviews were same and even rajesh charged him less.
Room has all the basic amenities and are neat & clean.

Mr & Mrs. Sharma were super good people. They give you an amazing experience of home away from home with homemade fresh food , take care of you as their own family member. On the other hand give you space to enjoy your own time too. Though missed plugging apples. Rooms were clean and tidy. The view is superb though it was not snowfall time but can imagine the flabbergasted view during snowfall. Loved the place, the surroundings, the people. Last but not the least got the chance to meet Mr. Sharma’s father who is also a wonderful soul enjoyed talking and spending time with him too. Thank you bhaiya and bhabhi for the wonderful stay. We reached cheog in morning @ 5 - 6 am from Delhi with family and kids. We were tired like anything. We booked home stay at cheog through air bnb.. But were waiting for message to be accepted.. While searching for place.. We met Mr. Rakesh Sharma owner of talai ghar.. he assisted in calling 5 6 property owners to help us out...but in vain. Finally we got the room we booked through air bnb.. But checkin was at 12:00 pm as usual. Rakesh ji assisted in giving us a temporary accommodation till our checkin at nearby property. I must say the simplicity and the care he has shown towards my family members was awesome. I do recommend this place to visit once and experience yourself.

Beautiful spot for a trip away from the rest of the world. It couldn't be better!
The food is true pahadi food with spices that'll make you sweat even in -2 degrees! The staff was ok and without any hassle. You can live here like you would live at home... And that's it. No need to go anywhere, just chill here and relax!
We traveled with 2 of our dogs so it was meant to be a hassle some trip, but it wasn't. The staff was non chalant but it was fine... Although we left a day earlier as the hospitality wasn't as the previous time. However, 5 stars as they did give us pretty much everything we asked for... Except siddu which we wanted to eat but weren't served.

Stayed at Talai Garh Farmstay in Fagu and honestly it’s a complete combo of everything — villa vibes, homely comfort, and hotel-like service all in one place. The food was amazing, fresh, and tasted just like home-cooked meals.
The entire property is surrounded by a beautiful apple orchard which makes the stay even more peaceful and scenic. Special mention to Vivek bhaiya for being such a warm and helpful host throughout the stay.
And the best part for dog lovers — Rocky and Bhalu! Both are super friendly and make the place feel even more welcoming.
Perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, and experience true Himachali hospitality. Highly recommended!

This was so wonderful experience to stay here for six nights. A divine and pure place in the lap of nature. Awesome hospitality by so down to earth people. Mr.Rajesh Sharma and her spouse is so kind, helpful, very calm & caring that they make each and everything available for the guest as per the best of his efforts. Food is very fresh all the time and cooked with intimate feelings. I highly recommend this place for stay. At last I would like to share that Mr. Sharma is genuinely a very well behaved person so keep this place on first place in your priority list if you wish to stay for a real mental peace.

Thalai Ghar has a nice, calm, homely vibe. Host here is very welcoming..
Independent Rooms and Independent Family Suits made of wood are available with balconies and mountain/valley view.
Homely food is provided within budget rates. Chai and Maggie are available all the time. We can carry snacks, can make our own food as per interest.. Karaoke and Bonfire are arranged subject to weather. Place is very decent and delightful. If You are looking for some peace out of all city chaos this is your go to place in seasons.
The stay is out of the world lovey and a Must visit and would recommend highly.

so me and my family looking for a stress buster trip,
Searched on internet and found Talai ghar as one of the option. As i was travelling with my kids too , so i was little worried about the infection and hygiene.
To my great surprise things were just out of my thinking and expectations. I really enjoyed the stay. And the location was superb.
The hospitality given by owner of the homestay was excellent. We truly felt the homely feel.
karioke nights and Bonefire just added more spice to my trip.

Its an excellent place to stay if you are in shimla or kufri.
We have been here twice and sharma sir and his wife are very humble, down to earth and caring host. You will not feel being away from your home. Its a second home and believe me you will find an extended family here. Food is just like homemade yummylicious food. They have their own apple orchids. If you go during summers you can see so many apples. If you go in winters, you can experience an amazing view of snow.
We are so happy and thankful to God for making us meet them.
We loved our stay to the fullest.

The place is just sooooo beautiful, clean and cozy.
The host, Mr. Sharma and his wife are really lovely and they took care of our each and every small need. The food they serve is fresh, homemade and very tasty.
We can do bonfire here. They have arranged a proper place for us for bonfire. The rooms are very spacious. We can sit outside and have fun in the day sunlight.
I would recommend each and every person visiting shimla or kufri to stay at this place which is just 22kms away from shimla mall road, but so peaceful and beautiful.

Beyond the expectation... Not express in words...sach mei mujhe nhi pata tha ki mujhe is swarg mei aane ka kabhi mauka milega.. ye jagah kisi jannat se kam nhi hai. Most charming thoughtful hosts, Rajesh and Sanghamitra, with the warmest hearts and heart. Warm, cosy and spacious, well done up room with squeaky clean bathroom. Steaming hot, homely food cooked in their kitchen available to guests with tea and coffee round the clock, on demand. Stunning views from Tala Ghar all around. Rajesh has excellent knowledge of the terrain which kept us off the beaten track and helped discover places which most tourists do not know off. Thanks to all his suggestions we got to enjoy the beauty and serenity of nature at its very best.

What really to say? I am doing travelling from last 5 years & stayed in a lot of Homestays. But the experience & hospitality which we got in Talaighar is just mindblowing. Rajesh sir & Sanghmitra mam treats us like their own family. It was my Bddy & never thought it is going to be this much amazing. They specially painted posters just for my Bddy. Food quality was amazing. My favorite part was to go to garden early morning & plucking the Apples from tree. Just a surreal experience for me. Our family really enjoyed the stay & one will definitely get extra perks for the money they spent here.

This was actually my 1st visit to shimla and I want to say that your trip to shimla will be a waste if you have not opted Talaighar home as your stay. I must say that Talaighar proved it"s name to be really a "ghar". A person feels best when he/she is at his sweet home and so is the Talaighar homestay. It becomes awesome when you have a fantabulous host like Mr. Rajesh. He is a nice and soft spoken person who treats you as his family member and not as guest. At last I would say if shimla is your next destination, then you must opt Talaighar homestay.
